Running with Wine

Ahhh wine. One of my favorite things in life...I mean besides running. Sadly, running and wine don't mix well. Last night I went over to my friend Kristin's apartment to watch a movie and eat. I brought the wine. It was pretty delicious so glasses were drank and Jocelyn became happy.
This morning I had to be in Central Park to meet up with Eunice, my sister- Jenna and Kristin at 11:30am. Sadly, Eunice ended up not being able to make it. Don't worry girl! We'll meet up and run soon! It was so warm here! 48 degrees and sunny. Ah, this is MY kind of January! Jenna and Kristin were waiting for me when I got there and then we were off. We had decided that our run was going to be slow and steady. Nothing crazy. When we started I immediately said "whoa whoa! I though this was going to be a slow run!?" Ha. According to Jenna's Garmin it WAS a slow run. 10:30 pace. Opps! My muscles were tight and I felt like I was working extra hard to keep up at a slow pace.

If you never have run in Central Park, there is only one thing you need to know. It's hilly. SO hilly. It doesn't matter which direction you go, it will feel like its all up hill. BUT with the help of Kristin and Jenna I was able to push myself not to walk and keep running up them. We only walked for a little bit after we hit the 5K mark. I am very happy about this. I must give a lot of credit to my two running buddies. I love mixing it up and running with people. When finished in 52 minutes and some change. HOLLA this beats my race PR by a good 5 minutes :D
As for my lower back, its much better. Thanks for all your concern. I iced it a lot during the day on Friday, making sure not to do any heavy lifting or weird twisting. The pain came and went but never got that horrible. I was hoping that the run today would go smoothly and nothing bad would happen. My back only bothered me for a short time after the run was over which I hope means my back is good to go!
When I got home I decided a hot bath was in order. It was lovely...I didn't want to get out. Ever. Currently my body is sore and stiff, which I love. Tomorrow I must do some cross training. Should I try to get one of the 4 bikes at my gym? Should I do weights? Does laundry count as cross training?
